Sinopsis:

Bubby's crazy mother, a religious freak, has kept her son in isolation from the outside world for the first 35 years of his life.

Living in a grubby, windowless room, they  bathe each other and even have sex together, an act Bubby has been raised to regard as normal. The mother occasionally ventures outside wearing a gas mask to protect her from the supposedly  poisoned environment.

This strange existence is interrupted by the arrival of Bubby's long lost father, a ragged priest heavily into booze and sex. He quickly displaces Bubby in mom's bed and the younger man's jealousy and frustration erupts in violence: hardly knowing what he is doing he suffocates his parents in cellophane whereupon he finally leaves his home for the first time but life outside is different, fascinating.
