A working class neighbourhood in the outskirts of Rome.

Gianpiero is thirteen. Kind and innocent he’s often  made a laughing stock .of by his fellow students because he’s always going around with an Atlas which gives him the opportunity to dream of fantastic travels.

One day in his class is admitted Romana, a rom child to whom he feels particularly attracted and shares with her their common capacity of day dreaming.
