Synopsis
The true story of Salvo D’Acquisto. Summer 1943: after Mussolini fall and the armistice, Italy is occupied by Germans. Civilians have two options: wait till Allies arrive or participating actively to the ‘Resistance’. Salvo decides to stay near the population as required by his role. Meanwhile, he starts falling in love for Martina. When an accidental explosion kills two German soldiers, the Germans decide to take reprisal and announce to kill 20 civilians. Salvo decides to save innocent people by declaring he is the guilty saving 20 persons. The Germans executed him.
