UN MALEDETTO IMBROGLIO
Synopsis
In an elegant apartment in Rome, a burglary takes place. The police have just begun their inquires when in the neighbouring apartment the murder of a young woman is committed. The new crime compels the police to extend their investigations, which are slow since the elements of proof are fragmentary. The individuals closest to the victim are those who are the prime suspects: a cousin, the husband and a maid. The investigations centre on the first two when it is discovered they both have a relationship with Virginia, a girl who also used to work for the woman. By means of patient inquiries, alternated by astute traps, the police gradually draw nearer to the truth.
