The concept of Neorealism, besides re- presenting the cultural wave of an epoch, was a revolution in cinema that is still the subject of study and a constant source of inspiration.It’s energy is by no means exhausted, especially for anyone with a desire to exploit it, which includes all those ai- ming to produce quality movies cha- racterized and identifiable as Italian products but, at the same time, not lo- cal but exportable.It is no coincidence that our first pro- duction is a “lesson” by Carlo Lizzani, who explains through his art and me- mory the rise and development of what was, at the time, a new direction.?His “class” contains a rich variety of per- sonalities, each one describing an anec- dote or moment from Italian life, giving them a “true” reading, unadulterated by the need to merely provide viewers with lightweight and edifying stories.
The period was not only marked by an innovative spirit, but also cinematic techniques that have since influenced cinema production world-wide, which explains why this documentary enjoys the support of Italy’s Presidency of the Republic.
